Let's face it, it's that time of the year - no need to feel any shame, you ate too much pie, too much cake, too many cookies.  Maybe it was the rum cake, or the mulled wine?  Way too many cocktails?

You could simply have the holiday hang over and just need to get back on track.  No worries - I've got you!  Here are 3 Effortless Ways to Lose Weight and get back on track now!

Strategy # 1:  Juice and Soft Drinks
Cut out the fruit juice and or soft drinks daily - yup this includes diet or low/reduced calorie drinks as well.  Most people don't realize that the majority of their sugar comes from soda/soft drinks and fruit juices.  In some cases fruit juice contains more sugar than it's sugary soda/soft drink counterparts.  Go with water and add fruit to it yourself or just eat the fruit separately.  When you eliminate these from your daily intake - the pounds start to drop - it's because of the sugar that you've eliminated from your daily intake.

Strategy #2:  Water
Yasssssssssss, you absolutely need water! Not in the form of flavored water, seltzer water, or fizzy bubbly water.  Nope not milk, just straight H20.  There's no substitute for water.  Your body requires a specific amount of water to function properly.  A good rule of thumb - if you aren't on water restriction is 1/2 your body weight in ounces.  For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, you'll need 75 ounces of water daily - that's a little more than 9 cups of water (cups are 8 ounces).  Water helps the liver and kidneys process and move toxins out of the body.  Your liver is the key organ that detoxifies and helps burn fat.  Meet Sarah Smith - she's 42 and drank 1 gallon of water daily for a month.  Her pictures are on the left notice the difference?

Strategy #3: Your Daily Sugar Intake
Did you know that sugar fires the same pleasure sensors in the brain as cocaine?  Did you know that it is highly addictive and will cause you to crave even more sugar?  As a rule of thumb you want to cut back on your daily added sugar intake:
  • Women - your target 15 grams or less per day of added sugar (anything with a label is considered added sugar)
  • Men - your target is 19 grams or less per day of added sugar (anything with a label is considered added sugar)

Bonus Strategy: Eliminate Substances that Rob your body of nutrients
  • Canola Oil
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup
  • Grains that have not been processed appropriately
  • Processed Foods (white bread, white sugar, white rice, deli meat, fast food imposters etc)
All of the above foods are taxing on the body and either bind with vital nutrients that your body needs or prevents the body from absorbing nutrients.

Struggling with fitting buttoning up those jeans or blouse? Maybe you still have those favorite pants you miss wearing.  Schedule a complimentary online session with yours truly to find out how working with a Health Coach can benefit you.
